NATIONAL STYLE ELECTRO ACOUSTIC
RESONATOR GUITAR
BY ALDEN
Making an electro acoustic resonator guitar sound good has never been straightforward. However, Alden have managed it with this really nice tribute to the National era, blues guitars. They have achieved the electro sound by using an undersaddle pickup on the bridge and a humbucker close to the neck. Working with a standard spider type cone, that authentic National sound can then be amplified. This helps to give a nice spread of sounds ensuring a wide range for almost all kinds of playing, especially blues and bluegrass.
The Alden 900 Reso is finished in a high gloss cherry red sunburst with all gold hardware.

Need a resonator guitar you can plug in? Look no further!
Regular acoustic resonator guitars are notoriously difficult to amplify. Transducer pickups on the cone dont always capture the true tone and can be a feedback nightmare. The Alden Reso 500 Resolectric guitar is a superb stage-friendly resonator which offers the compactness and playabilty of a solid-body guitar with the tone of a Dobro. Set it up with heavy strings and a high action for smooth slide tones, or low and light for funky downhome twang. And because the sound of a resonator guitar is produced almost entirely by the resonator cone, the Reso 500 produces quite respectable acoustic volume so you can use it unplugged as well! The dual pickup system allows ther choice of either the magnetic pickup or the cone mounted transducer via a blend control.

With their unique, Bluesy sounds the Resonator Guitar allows the player to enter into whole new realms of music Genre, ones which are quite different from normal acoustic guitars, they are usually associated with Delta Blues, Rock, Blue Grass and Swampy Slide. Often being played in open tunings and with a slide, or bottleneck. It features a wooden body with the metal resonator enclosing the membrane, it gives the sound a cross between a wood body acoustic guitar and a full metal body resonator. It has a laminated spruce top, mahogany back and side, a Nato neck, and a sonokelin fingerboard with dot markers at 3rd, 5th, 7th 10th and 12th frets. The resonator is a spider type, with a nickel diecast tuning peg/headstock arrangement.
Martins combined experience in instrument making, string winding, and comprehensive sound testing make Martin Bluegrass Strings the best choice for your dobro.
